Who we are...
Contracting and Management Services (CAMS) has a rich history of bringing administrative excellence to bear on the fight against HIV, and in the past few years has expanded its work to address a broad array of other public health needs.
CAMS has for many years served as the Master Contractor to administer HIV-related funding granted to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH) from Ryan White Part A, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the City of New York. In December 2015, CAMS became, in addition, the Master Contractor for the TriCounty region of the Ryan White service area.
Since 2015, CAMS has been providing procurement and contracts management expertise to DOHMH-supported programs across New York City in substance use treatment, early childhood interventions, mental health services, sexual and reproductive health, developmental disabilities, and cancer prevention, among other essential services.
Supporting healthcare innovation, CAMS serves as third-party administrator for NYC Health + Hospital‘s Performing Provider System (PPS), one of New York State‘s largest DSRIP providers. CAMS also provides administrative, financial and technical support, and capacity building for organizations focused on violence prevention.
HIV Big Deal is an ongoing, web-based HIV Prevention campaign to inspire and motivate gay men to have safer sex and to get tested for HIV.
The centerpiece of HIV Big Deal is a dramatic web video series about Josh, a young gay man living in Manhattan and dealing with all the dilemmas gay men face - love, friendship, sex, health, and everything in between.
The series was created by Public Health Solutions and the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University, and was developed in response to the continuing HIV epidemic among gay men.
